As a big fan of the Japanese band, Back Number, I knew I wanted to dedicate my time for this assignment towards a group I've loved for so long. Challenging myself, I went out of my comfort zone by going a photography route as opposed to my usual illustration work and going into a whole other realm in Japanese typography. With this album, Humor, the front cover depicts a girl staring solemnly at a smiley-faced ball under a blue monochromatic spotlight. Simple things such as seeing a smiley-faced ball on the ground can give someone a little joy and laughter to their day, showcased on the back cover, where she's broken out of her blank expression and starts laughing, breaking out of the mundanity of her daily life and depicted in full color.
