In partnership with USAID and their Gender LEAD project, I worked alongside them at PRB, creating graphics for the Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) Community of Practice (CoP). The MHH CoP goal is to create a space where members can discuss how we can advance women's empowerment and gender equality while providing information on menstruation to all, regardless of sexual or gender identity.
These graphics were created using Canva.
MHH CoP interest flyer & card
Everyone enjoys an informative interest flyer, but how do we increase our chances of keeping that interest? First impressions and presentation are key, so I was tasked with the art direction of the flyer, figuring out the best layout to fit all the information requested in the most easily digestible and eye-catching way possible. Several graphics are pulled from previous MHH CoP social media posts, and the co-creation session graphic is used to ensure consistency across material, with menstrual products being used as a pattern background and members discussing similar topics in the header illustration. These flyers were made to be distributed during events, while the horizontal graphic is a simplified version meant for slide decks or cards to be printed out.
Co-creation Session
Following the USAID's signature red with additional accent colors that better encapsulate the MHH CoP, the requested graphic presents the discussions that occurred during the co-creation session in a visually engaging way for members and attendees to look back on. Illustrations of menstrual products can be found around the graphic. Emphasizing the CoP, I opted for a more fun and literal visual interpretation for the MHH Topics of Interest section by having each topic come out of a speech bubble from a different member.
